SoCal-Inspired Rooms at Kimpton Palomar San Diego

Guests at Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar San Diego can now experience the property’s new surf-inspired Skyline Collection. The renovation adds 50 stylish guestrooms, suites and penthouses across floors 16–20, each designed with California-inspired touches such as surfboard-themed headboards, coastal artwork, marine-colored tie-dyed fabrics and unique sconces that echo motorcycle taillight styling. Many rooms offer sweeping views of San Diego Bay, Coronado Island and the Gaslamp Quarter, complementing the modern, relaxed interiors among the 30 new guestrooms, 12 studios, six suites and two penthouses.

“Our hotel has always been in the best location — in the heart of downtown San Diego — offering guests an authentic urban experience,” said Jim Hollister, general manager, Palomar San Diego. “Now, in addition to the proximity to the best shopping, dining and entertainment venues, our guests will have a quintessential San Diego experience unlike any other in one of our new Skyline Collection guestrooms.”

In addition to the new guest rooms, the hotel’s rooftop pool deck and lounge, SummerSalt, has rolled out fresh programming to enhance the guest experience. Weekend poolside brunches with live entertainment are now offered on Saturdays and Sundays, and visitors can also enjoy outdoor game tournaments and happy hour specials on select days. These additions aim to create a lively, social atmosphere that complements the Hotel Palomar’s downtown location and surf-inspired aesthetic.

The Skyline Collection blends modern design with casual coastal elements to deliver a distinctive stay for both leisure and business travelers. Thoughtful amenities and scenic city and bay views make these upper-floor rooms particularly appealing for guests seeking a memorable San Diego stay without leaving the heart of downtown.
