Fairmont Opens Its Largest U.S. Hotel — New Flagship Property Revealed

Fairmont Austin opens with 1,048 guestrooms, five distinct dining and bar venues, the largest outdoor pool and spa in downtown Austin, and nearly 140,000 square feet of event space. It is the brand’s largest property in the United States and the second-largest Fairmont hotel worldwide.

“This is a strategic opening for AccorHotels,” said Kevin Frid, COO, North and Central America, AccorHotels. “Fairmont Austin is the first in a series of high-profile luxury developments that reflect significant growth for the group and its brands across North and Central America. Other notable openings expected in the next 18 to 24 months include Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Sofitel Mexico Reforma in Mexico City, Fairmont Costa Canuva in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit, Fairmont Saint Lucia at Sunset Bay in the Caribbean, and several projects that may introduce new brands into the region.”

Rising 37 stories in the Central Business District, Fairmont Austin offers direct access to the Austin Convention Center. As the city’s second-tallest building, it features a 170-foot illuminated architectural spire that makes the hotel visible throughout the region.

On-site dining options include Garrison, a modern American grill; Revue, serving international cuisine; Rules & Regs, a bar with panoramic views; Fulton, which showcases local wines, spirits and live music; and Good Things, offering quick bites and grab-and-go choices.

“The opening of Fairmont Austin shifts the economic landscape of the Texas capital,” Frid continued. “With festivals like South by Southwest and Austin City Limits growing each year, a steady stream of new events, and more organizations choosing Austin for conferences and private gatherings, demand for hotel rooms and event space is strong. Fairmont Austin allows the city to accommodate larger conferences and conventions, bringing more tourists and business travelers to the area and supporting more than 900 employees, further strengthening the local economy.”
