Hyatt Place Macaé has opened on the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, becoming the first oceanfront Hyatt Place in Latin America and the brand’s second Hyatt Place hotel in Brazil. This launch is part of Hyatt’s broader plan to develop nine Hyatt Place properties across the country.
“We’re delighted to expand the Hyatt Place brand into Macaé and are sure that both business and leisure travelers will appreciate the innovative service concept and modern design offered by Hyatt Place Macaé,” said Luciano Julio, regional director of operations in Latin America for Hyatt Place and Hyatt House. “This opening marks the fourth Hyatt property in the country and the Hyatt Place brand’s second hotel in Brazil, strengthening Hyatt’s presence in both primary and secondary cities nationwide.”
The hotel features 141 guestrooms, each designed with generous seating areas and many offering views of the Atlantic Ocean. Guests enjoy complimentary WiFi throughout the property, and convenient 24/7 services including a gallery market, a fitness center, and a business center. The hotel’s coffee-to-cocktails bar serves specialty coffee by day and premium cocktails by night, while the rooftop pool provides expansive ocean views that highlight the property’s seaside location.
“We are excited to see this hotel becoming a reality through our joint venture with Hyatt and look forward to Macaé’s growth as both a business and leisure destination,” said Alexandros Kallantzis, head of Brazil for Elandis. “We are proud to have delivered the project on schedule and on budget.”
Located about 110 miles (approximately 180 kilometers) northeast of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Macaé is known as Brazil’s petroleum capital. The city’s robust oil industry draws significant business travel, and the addition of Hyatt Place Macaé expands accommodation options for professionals and tourists alike, offering modern amenities and oceanfront access in a strategically important regional hub.
