Southwest Airlines has announced new routes that are now available for booking through November.
Beginning Aug. 10, Southwest will operate a daily nonstop flight between St. Louis (STL) and Salt Lake City (SLC). On the same date the airline will resume service between Baltimore (BWI) and Newark (EWR), offering twice-daily nonstop flights on a route it last served in 2013.
Starting Oct. 5, Southwest will add weekend-only service on three pairs of cities: Nashville (BNA) to Buffalo (BUF); Houston (HOU) to Amarillo (AMA); and Dallas (DAL) to Cleveland (CLE). These weekend flights are intended to offer leisure and visiting options for customers traveling for short trips.
“Our network planning team constantly reviews our service to address the needs of more than 130 million annual customers who want non-stop service to places and at times that work for them,” said Adam Decaire, vice president of network planning at Southwest. “We are always looking for opportunities to add new nonstop service for our customers and connect them to the people and places that are important in their lives.”
Passengers interested in these routes can book through Southwest’s regular booking channels. The additions reflect the carrier’s ongoing efforts to expand non-stop options and match schedule frequency with customer demand across its system.
