EVA Air will debut its first long-range Hello Kitty Jet on the Los Angeles route on Sept. 18. The Boeing 777-300ER features a full-length Hello Kitty-themed livery that extends from nose to tail.
In collaboration with Japan’s Sanrio Corp., EVA Air developed the Hello Kitty Jet concept to give passengers a playful, branded experience. Now in its second generation, the fleet of Hello Kitty aircraft displays vibrant, individual designs and brings that theme inside the cabin as well as on the exterior.
On shorter regional routes between Taiwan and destinations such as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, mainland China and Guam, EVA operates five Hello Kitty-themed narrowbody aircraft: Hello Kitty Magic, Apple, Global, Happy Music and Speed Puff. These jets extend the theme beyond liveries to inflight service, where more than 100 branded passenger items are used, including headrest and pillow covers, tissues, hand soap and lotion, paper cups, utensils, milk bottles, snacks, meals and ice cream. The airline maintains a dedicated site for the program.
The new long-range Hello Kitty Jet will be assigned to regular scheduled service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Taipei (TPE), giving transpacific travelers the opportunity to experience the themed cabin on an intercontinental sector.
