Omni Hotels & Resorts has launched “Polling For Cocktails,” a brand-wide promotion running through Nov. 8 that playfully tracks guest preferences to predict the next President of the United States. Participating properties across the country will feature original menus of election-themed cocktails; guests cast their vote simply by ordering one of these specialty drinks. Each week’s drink tallies will be compiled and posted every Wednesday, and after the election the brand will compare its “popular vote” cocktail results with the actual outcome.
The menu highlights seven handcrafted cocktails designed to reflect different political leanings. Republican-inspired selections include The Right Manhattan, Trump-tini and Ruby Red Pence. Democratic choices are the True Blue Mule, the Hilla-rita and the Sugar Caine Smash. For independent-leaning guests, POTUS Punch provides an alternative option. Guests are encouraged to share photos and impressions using the hashtag #DrinkTheVote.
“The 2016 U.S. Presidential Election is one for history. Omni Hotels & Resorts is excited to see if we can make an assumption based on consumption,” said David Morgan, vice president of food and beverage at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We felt this would be a light-hearted way to get our guests involved in the conversation — and, no matter who you end up voting for, you still get to enjoy a great craft cocktail.”
Beyond cocktail menus, Omni is offering related presidential-themed experiences. Select resorts are featuring golf packages at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and Omni Mount Washington Resort. Guests may also choose to “Stay Like A President” in select luxury suites on participating nights through election night, with a special 20.16 percent discount on eligible reservations.
