April 7 is National Beer Day, and The Essex Resort & Spa in Essex Junction, Vt., is celebrating with a month-long lineup of beer-focused activities. Situated close to many Vermont breweries and offering more than 20 craft beers on tap, the resort pairs its beverage selection with culinary experiences that highlight local brews, making it an ideal destination for beer enthusiasts.
The resort’s Bed & Brew package is available year-round and is designed for guests who want to explore Vermont’s beer scene. The package includes daily breakfast, a tasting flight of Vermont ales and beers, and two featured local craft beers placed in the room upon arrival. Priced from $318 based on double occupancy, the offer also provides guidance for a self-guided brewery tour along Pine Street in Burlington.
Throughout April, guests who book the Bed & Brew package receive complimentary shuttle service to Pine Street, simplifying travel to nearby breweries and tasting rooms. In addition, The Essex is hosting a Cook Academy class titled Cooking with Vermont Beer. This 2.5-hour culinary session teaches participants how to prepare dishes that incorporate beer, such as balsamic beer French onion soup, beer-braised chicken, buttery potatoes, bacon-and-beer Brussels sprouts, and a chocolate stout cake. Class days and times vary by week, and the fee is $98 per person.
The resort’s Spa is also joining the beer-themed programming. For the month of April, the Spa is offering a buy-one-get-one promotion on its signature Body Brew treatment. This custom service is infused with hops grown on the property and is available in two durations: 50 minutes for $125 and 80 minutes for $175.
For guided brewery outings, local guide Greg Doremus of Vermont Guided Tours will lead excursions to three area breweries on April 5, 12, and 19. Each guided tour is priced at $50 per person and provides a curated experience for visitors who prefer an organized tasting route.
