Following successful runs in Johannesburg and Paris, the exhibition Nelson Mandela — From Prisoner to President will open its third stop in April in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. This comprehensive retrospective presents Mandela as an enduring global symbol for human rights, racial equality and peaceful resistance, exploring his life and legacy through six perspectives: the individual, the friend, the leader, the prisoner, the negotiator and the statesman.
The exhibition brings Mandela’s powerful story of tolerance and non-violent pursuit of justice to life through a rich mix of media, including film, photography and visual art. A centerpiece of the show is a life-size replica of the cell on Robben Island where Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years of imprisonment, offering visitors a poignant sense of his experience. The exhibition runs from April 29 to September 28 at the National Museum of the Resistance Esch-sur-Alzette.
