This September, a carefully restored 17th-century manor in the Cotswolds opens as an intimate, luxury hotel. HYLL offers 26 thoughtfully designed accommodations across the main house and adjoining buildings, including eight bedrooms, lounges, a restaurant, a snug and a bar.

Located on 60 acres of meadow, hill and woodland in Chipping Campden, HYLL preserves the manor’s historic charm while introducing contemporary comforts. The hotel’s name is drawn from the Old English word for an elevated place, reflecting its setting and outlook. In addition to the main house, former outbuildings—once visited by poet T.S. Eliot—now contain four suites and 14 guest rooms, combining period character with modern interiors.

Rooms are uncluttered and comfortable, featuring Naturalmat beds, soft linens and well-stocked pantries. Thoughtful British-made amenities and independent brands are used throughout, including Verden toiletries, Private White VC walking jackets, Grind coffee machines and locally crafted ceramics, all chosen to make stays feel relaxed and personal.
At the heart of HYLL is a restaurant led by Chef Mark Coleman. The kitchen focuses on seasonal, locally sourced produce and simple, careful preparations that let the ingredients speak for themselves.

HYLL is designed to feel like a second home, whether that means an afternoon nap by the fire or a drink on the terrace with views toward the Malvern Hills. The grounds and surrounding countryside invite exploration, with fields, woodlands and quiet benches hidden along hedgerows.
Community and culture are part of the hotel’s programme. A weekly Sunday walk followed by a communal lunch will welcome both guests and locals. In partnership with Borzoi Books, HYLL will provide an in-room curated reading selection and host a supper-club series featuring authors, artists and intimate conversations paired with four-course dinners.
The property is also developing a growing outdoor sculpture collection across its grounds, adding to the sense of discovery for visitors.
In 2026, HYLL will expand its facilities with an events bar designed for weddings, performances and private gatherings, further enhancing the hotel’s role as a cultural and social hub in the Cotswolds.
