Channel Islands National Park is a chain of five islands off the southern California coast accessible by boat or small plane. The islands shelter unique coastal Mediterranean ecosystems and host numerous endemic species that evolved in isolation. Kayaking, snorkeling, wildlife viewing, and guided boat tours give visitors a chance to see sea caves, kelp forests, and rare island plants and animals.
