Wyndham is accelerating its Caribbean expansion with the development of the first Wyndham Grand Resort at the historic Sam Lord’s Castle site in St. Philip, Barbados.
Planned to open in 2018, the 450-room Sam Lord’s Castle Barbados, A Wyndham Grand Resort, will occupy a location long associated with 19th-century pirates. Alongside spacious, elegantly appointed guest rooms, the resort will feature three on-site restaurants, a luxurious full-service spa, and approximately 20,000 square feet of modern meeting and event space.
“The famous buccaneer Sam Lord chose this area for its beauty and mystique. Today, we believe he picked the perfect site for our continued growth in the Caribbean,” said Paulo Pena, president and managing director, Latin America and the Caribbean, Wyndham Hotel Group. “The resort’s striking design and five-star amenities will make it a landmark for travelers seeking distinctive luxury experiences.”
