Women Explorers Journey to Patagonia: Adventure, Culture & Trails

Ladies, set your adventurous spirit free in South America with two new women-only journeys from Wild Women Expeditions. Both small-group trips explore the spectacular outdoors of Patagonia, offering active, guided experiences tailored for women who want to immerse themselves in mountain and wilderness adventures.

Wild Women ExpeditionsThe Torres del Paine Multisport Adventure is a nine-night, ten-day program based in Torres del Paine National Park. Led by an experienced female guide, the itinerary combines strenuous day hikes of up to eight hours with sea kayaking, mountain biking excursions of up to four hours, and a scenic six-hour horseback ride. The trip departs from Punta Arenas and features shared accommodations, including EcoCamp Patagonia domes and shared huts at a scenic lodge. Pricing starts at $5,295 per person and covers English-speaking guides, accommodations, all meals, sleeping bags, and all required equipment for excursions—mountain bikes, sea kayaks, horses, tack, and safety gear. Scheduled departures run in February and March for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

The Patagonia Cordillera Riding Adventure offers 11 days of exploration focused on horseback travel through the rugged Andean terrain. The core of the trip is a seven-day pack ride mounted on native Argentine Criollo horses, valued for their endurance and sure-footedness on steep, rocky trails. Rates begin at $3,395 per person and include horses and pack mules, riding gear, professional female wrangler guides, and ten nights of shared accommodations both on and off the grid. The package also includes the first two nights and the night before departure at a traditional estancia, camping equipment, handcrafted meals, laundry services, and round-trip transfers to and from Presidente Perón International Airport in Neuquén Province, Argentina. Departures are scheduled for January, February, and March 2018, with additional 2019 dates to be announced.

Both itineraries emphasize small groups, expert female leadership, and fully supported activities that let participants focus on the landscape and the experience. Whether you prefer to cover ground on foot, by bike, by kayak, or from the saddle, these Patagonia adventures are designed to deliver immersive wilderness travel with safety, camaraderie, and authentic regional hospitality.

These women-only programs are suitable for travelers who have a good level of fitness and an eagerness to engage in multi-day outdoor activities. Equipment and logistics are organized by the operator so participants can concentrate on enjoying Patagonia’s dramatic mountains, glaciers, lakes, and open steppe. With guided routes, communal accommodations, and inclusive pricing, each trip provides a structured yet adventurous way to experience one of South America’s most iconic regions.
