Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to refurbish its Heathrow Terminal 3 Clubhouse, which will mark its 10th anniversary next year.
In a statement to Business Traveller, the airline said: “Next year our Heathrow Clubhouse celebrates its 10th anniversary, and to mark the occasion we’re investing in a makeover to further improve the experience we deliver to customers. The refurbishment will be completed by spring 2017, and the clubhouse will remain open throughout this period. We will announce further details about the exciting new features early next year.”
Rather than closing the entire Clubhouse, Virgin Atlantic will renovate the space in phases, closing small sections one at a time. This approach will allow the lounge to remain operational throughout the work and avoid a full shutdown. Virgin Atlantic also expects visitors will not experience any noticeable reduction in capacity during the refurbishment.
The Heathrow Clubhouse is available to Upper Class passengers and Gold Flying Club members, as well as Delta One customers. The phased refurbishment aims to refresh the lounge’s facilities and enhance the passenger experience while maintaining access for eligible travellers.
Highlights of the renovation plan include a staged schedule to minimize disruption, a commitment to keeping core services open during works, and a focus on improving comfort and amenities for premium passengers. By completing the work by spring 2017, Virgin Atlantic intends to unveil an updated Clubhouse in time for the anniversary celebrations.
Travellers planning to use the Heathrow Terminal 3 Clubhouse during the refurbishment should expect normal access for eligible passengers, with only limited, temporary closures of specific areas as they are upgraded. Virgin Atlantic has indicated it will provide more details about the new features and improvements in early 2017.
