Starting this month, United Airlines will offer Chicago’s famous Pizzeria Uno deep-dish pizza to passengers on flights within North America. The pizza will be available to economy passengers for $9.99.
Travelers can choose a spinach-and-garlic deep-dish pie, prepared and served in a skillet-style dish designed to brown the cheese and keep the crust crisp. A pizza-and-beer combo will be offered for $13.99.
Deep-dish pizza originated in Chicago, the city where United has its headquarters, making the partnership a natural fit.
Earlier this year, in January, United introduced a $12 cheeseburger in economy class. The burger quickly became the best-selling item on the airline’s Bistro on Board menu, with approximately 2,000 sold each day across flights.
