Turkish Airlines Launches New Direct Flights to Montréal

Turkish Airlines will expand its route network next year by launching new nonstop service between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Istanbul Atatürk Airport (IST). The new route is scheduled to begin on June 3, 2014, and will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flights will be operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft configured with 28 lie-flat business-class seats and 261 economy seats.

As a member of Star Alliance, Turkish Airlines will provide convenient connections through partner carriers such as Air Canada, United and US Airways, improving access to additional destinations across Canada and the United States. This expansion strengthens the carrier’s global footprint; Turkish Airlines currently serves dozens of domestic locations and flies to approximately 200 international destinations in more than 100 countries.

The new Montréal–Istanbul service will offer passengers enhanced long-haul options between Eastern Canada and Turkey, supporting both leisure and business travel. The A330-300 offers a comfortable cabin layout for transatlantic and transcontinental journeys, featuring lie-flat seats in business class and a full economy cabin. Travelers in Montréal will gain a direct link to Istanbul’s extensive onward connections across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

This addition to Turkish Airlines’ schedule reflects ongoing growth for the carrier and expanding travel choices for Canadian passengers. Frequent flyers and travellers planning trips to Turkey or connections through Istanbul should find the three-weekly schedule convenient for a variety of itineraries, with options that link to partner networks for broader reach.
