Check-in was quick, and staff escorted me directly to my room.
Guest Quarters: The deluxe rooms in the Valley Wing live up to their name—generously sized with tasteful décor in gold tones and soft beiges that create a refined, comfortable atmosphere. The bathroom was a highlight, even featuring a TV visible from the bathtub. The Valley Wing lobby felt like an extension of the room, with the Champagne Bar offering a pleasant place to wait or work. Adjacent to the lobby is the Summit Room, which serves a complimentary breakfast—a delightful start to the day in Singapore.
Services and Amenities: A short corridor overlooking the landscaped grounds connects the Valley Wing to the main hotel, making it easy to reach an extensive range of services and dining options. The fitness center includes spa treatments, an outdoor pool, and tennis courts. I had an excellent lunch at the Shang Palace and recommend it for anyone seeking authentic Cantonese cuisine in Singapore.
The Experience: The name “Shangri-La” evokes a tropical paradise, and the Shangri-La Singapore delivers that feeling amid the city. The Valley Wing team consistently went the extra mile to ensure my comfort and to meet every request promptly and professionally.
