Attentive doormen welcome guests at the curb and assist with luggage into the stately, well-lit lobby. The expansive seating areas create a warm, luxurious atmosphere. Check-in at the front desk is friendly and efficient, making it easy to settle in quickly after travel.
Guest Quarters: An icon in Nashville since 1908, The Hermitage Hotel blends classic charm with modern comforts. My deluxe guestroom felt thoughtful and complete for a multi-night stay, offering extras such as a pillow menu and an on-call bath concierge. The room layout began with a small foyer and a spacious closet. The bathroom was large and well-appointed, featuring double sinks, a separate shower, a deep soaking tub and a private water closet. Molton Brown amenities and a scented candle added a refined touch.
The sleeping area included a comfortable king-sized bed flanked by nightstands and lamps, a desk to one side and a bench at the foot of the bed. A small table and chairs created a separate sitting area, giving the standard room a suite-like feel. Nightly turndown service provided water and sweets, a pleasant nightly detail that enhanced the stay.
Services/Amenities: While there was no in-room coffeemaker, complimentary coffee and tea are offered each morning in the lower-level Capitol Grille, including a convenient to-go station for early departures. Capitol Grille is a popular dining spot in Nashville; the cream of onion soup is a recommended choice. The pet-friendly hotel provides a full range of luxury services and amenities: valet parking, laundry, on-site shoe-shining, Rachel’s Boutique gift shop, a business center, fitness center and spa, plus meeting and event spaces.
The Experience: The combination of location, service and historic character made The Hermitage Hotel an excellent base for exploring downtown Nashville. Walkable to many central attractions, the hotel delivers the refined service and comfort expected of a top-tier property, with a history that enhances the overall experience.
