Surf’s Up at Boca Raton Resort and Club — Surfing, Pools & Ocean Fun

Learn to surf at Boca Raton Resort & Club. The upscale Boca Raton hotel has partnered with Billabong and Costa del Este Water Sports to launch an on-site surf school designed for beginners and casual surfers.

Group lessons are offered on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Each session includes a Billabong rash guard, a personalized video that students can view online, surf photos, and a one-hour surfboard rental. Private lessons and specialized clinics are also available for guests who want individual instruction or a more focused experience.

“Our instructors report that Boca’s surf conditions are well suited to beginners and to surfers along Florida’s East Coast,” said Rick Hayduck, president, Boca Raton Resort & Club. “At the Surf School by Billabong, guests and members can pick up a fun, popular water sport while enjoying a memorable family vacation.”

The program aims to create a relaxed, safe learning environment with experienced instructors, quality equipment and beachside support. Lessons cover paddling, popping up, basic wave selection and ocean safety so newcomers gain confidence quickly. Video reviews and photos help students track progress after each lesson.

Visitors can choose group sessions for a social, cost-effective introduction to surfing, or private lessons for one-on-one coaching and faster improvement. Clinics offer focused practice on specific skills such as turning, stance, or catching larger waves when conditions permit.

Whether you are staying at the resort or visiting the area for a day, the surf school provides convenient access to instruction and gear. The collaboration with Billabong ensures students receive reputable apparel and equipment, while Costa del Este Water Sports brings local surf expertise and logistics.

For families, the surf school offers a memorable activity suitable for older children and adults, combining recreation with instruction in a supportive setting. Many groups appreciate the combination of hands-on lessons, digital feedback and beachside convenience.

To join a group lesson, book a session on one of the scheduled days and arrive prepared with sun protection and swimwear. For those preferring a tailored approach, inquire about private lessons or clinics to match your skill level and goals. Lessons are structured to be welcoming for beginners and helpful for those refining basic techniques.
