In a distinctive collaboration, Ace Hotels enlisted a group of independent artists to capture and document the sounds of the cities where their properties are located.
As they moved through each location, Lucky Dragons (Downtown Los Angeles), Aino Tytti (London), Farmer Dave (Palm Springs), Diamond Terrifier (New York City), World Gang (Seattle and Portland), and Ingmar Herrera (Panama) made field recordings — audio snapshots that capture the atmosphere, movement, and energy of each environment. The project, titled Listen Up, is available online at the Ace Hotels blog.
Ace Hotels also invites people worldwide to create their own city sound recordings and share them on social media by tagging #acebroadcast on Facebook or Twitter.
