WIMCO Villas has introduced a new technology that makes researching St. Barth’s accommodations easier and more informative for travelers.
The company’s website now features 200 interactive floor plans covering private villas across the WIMCO portfolio. Each interactive plan presents clear graphic illustrations of interior and exterior layouts and dimensions. Hovering over photo pins reveals additional images, allowing potential guests to view a property from multiple angles instead of relying on a few select photos. Many listings also offer 360-degree viewing options for a fuller sense of space.
At present, the technology is primarily applied to three- and four-bedroom villas. WIMCO found that larger villas can be harder to visualize using only traditional photos and written descriptions, so they prioritized properties where a detailed spatial view adds the most value.
“Our focus with this technology is to make it easier for our clients to imagine their experience in the villa,” said Stiles Bennet, president of WIMCO. “Our villa specialists visit our properties firsthand, and now prospective guests can have that same immersive experience remotely.”
By combining interactive floor plans, expanded imagery, and 360-degree perspectives, the update helps travelers better assess layout, flow and scale before booking. This can reduce uncertainty about room sizes, outdoor living areas, and how bedrooms, living spaces and kitchens connect—details that often influence comfort and suitability for a trip.
Beyond improving visualization, the tools support more informed decision-making. Guests can compare layouts across multiple properties, check how indoor and outdoor areas relate to one another, and verify that the villa’s configuration meets their needs for privacy, accessibility and group size. For families or groups traveling together, the ability to evaluate room adjacency and shared spaces can be especially helpful.
The interactive floor plans also aid travel advisors and villa specialists who assist clients remotely. Rather than describing a villa verbally or relying only on photos, advisors can walk clients through a clear, interactive depiction of the property, pointing out sightlines, terrace access, and useful details that are easy to overlook in standard galleries.
This initiative reflects a broader trend in travel toward richer, more transparent online information that narrows the gap between virtual browsing and on-site inspection. Travelers planning stays in St. Barth’s can now spend less time guessing which villa will suit their needs and more time focusing on the details that matter for a smoother, more enjoyable stay.
