Stay at One of Central America’s First Luxury Tented Camps

Sister resorts Nayara Resort, Spa & Gardens and Nayara Springs, both located near Costa Rica’s Arenal Volcano, are expanding with a new luxury property. Opening in November, Nayara Tented Camp becomes one of the first high-end tented camps in Central America, combining comfort and nature.

The camp features 21 well-appointed tents. Each tent includes a master suite, an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor shower and a private plunge pool. Twelve of the tents can interconnect to accommodate families or groups. Following the camp’s opening, guests can enjoy an on-site restaurant, a communal pool and a swim-up bar, scheduled to debut in early 2020.

Until the tented camp opens, visitors can stay at the two existing Nayara properties, which blend sustainability with refined comfort. Both hotels were constructed without cutting down trees and support a dedicated sloth sanctuary on the grounds. Fifteen sloths already inhabit the sanctuary, living among 300 Cecropia trees planted across the estate. With the addition of Nayara Tented Camp, the resort’s tree count will increase to 1,000.

Nayara Springs has introduced curated three- and five-day wellness programs tailored for relaxation and rejuvenation. These packages include guided yoga sessions, restorative spa treatments and healthy mocktail mixology classes, all designed to promote wellbeing. The adults-only property also offers secluded luxury villas for a private, tranquil stay.

Guests at Nayara Springs can now visit Mi Cafecito, a new espresso bar serving locally grown organic coffee roasted on site. The experience extends beyond a simple cup: visitors are invited to tour a nearby plantation to help pick coffee beans, learn the roasting process and create a personalized blend to enjoy during their stay.

Together, Nayara Resort, Spa & Gardens, Nayara Springs and the forthcoming Nayara Tented Camp offer a range of experiences that emphasize sustainable practices, immersive nature encounters and thoughtfully designed luxury—ideal for travelers seeking both comfort and connection to Costa Rica’s natural surroundings.
