Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced two new Aloft hotels in Mexico, expanding the brand’s presence in the region. The upcoming properties in Veracruz and Querétaro will join Aloft Cancún and Aloft Guadalajara as the third and fourth Aloft locations in the country. Aloft is currently one of Starwood’s most successful brands in Latin America, with rapid expansion since its regional debut.
Victor Vazquez, vice president of Latin American development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, noted that Aloft first entered the Latin American market in 2011 and that the company plans to more than double its footprint in the region by 2019. This growth underscores Aloft’s strong performance and popularity among both business and leisure travelers across Latin America.
Aloft Veracruz
Aloft Veracruz is scheduled to open by late 2017 in the lively Veracruz-Boca del Río neighborhood. The property will be conveniently located near the Veracruz Convention Center and a variety of shopping options, making it well suited for conference attendees and visitors exploring the city. The hotel will feature 165 loft-styled guestrooms designed with Aloft’s modern, urban aesthetic.
As with other Aloft properties, guests at Aloft Veracruz will enjoy signature brand amenities such as complimentary WiFi and a full calendar of live musical events and performances. These amenities aim to provide a welcoming, social atmosphere for travelers visiting one of Mexico’s main commercial seaports.
Aloft Querétaro
Aloft Querétaro is expected to open in 2018 in the city’s fast-growing northern industrial corridor. Querétaro has become an important economic center in Mexico, attracting business travelers and corporate investment, and the new Aloft will serve that market with the brand’s contemporary design and efficient service.
The Querétaro property will offer many of the same stylish amenities planned for the Veracruz location, including Aloft’s familiar social spaces. Both new hotels will feature SPG Keyless technology, enabling guests to use their mobile devices for seamless, keyless entry to guest rooms.
Rodrigo Soto, general manager at Inmobiliaria ARAT SA de CV, emphasized the importance of local design and guest comfort. “Querétaro is known as one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico, and we are proud to introduce the first Aloft Hotel in the city,” he said. Soto added that the project team is collaborating with one of Mexico’s leading architecture firms to design the hotel’s spaces. The goal is to create an environment where travelers feel at home, even when they are in town for business, with spacious areas for relaxation such as the W XYZ® bar, the outdoor patio and the pool.
Both Aloft Veracruz and Aloft Querétaro are being positioned to serve a mix of business and leisure guests, combining Aloft’s signature loft-inspired guestrooms and social programming with convenient locations near commercial centers and local attractions. The brand’s focus on music, technology and vibrant public spaces is expected to appeal to travelers seeking a modern, connected hotel experience in Mexico.
