St. Regis to Open First Hotel in India: What Travelers Need to Know

The Palladium Hotel will reopen as the first St. Regis property in India after a comprehensive renovation and rebranding. Scheduled to welcome guests in the third quarter of this year, the hotel sits in Lower Parel, under a half-hour drive from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai. Its location places guests within easy reach of upscale restaurants and pubs, premium office districts, designer boutiques and luxury residential neighborhoods.

“We are very excited to bring the St. Regis brand to India,” said Jim Petrus, global brand leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. “Starwood is maintaining strong growth momentum in the region and the arrival of St. Regis in Mumbai reinforces our commitment to growing our luxury portfolio in this important market. With the hotel’s strategic location, sophisticated service and refined elegance, we look forward to offering guests an unparalleled experience true to both the destination and the St. Regis legacy.”

The 38-story St. Regis Mumbai will offer 383 guestrooms, including 60 suites, designed to reflect contemporary luxury and comfort. Dining options will span an all-day restaurant, four specialty restaurants, a club lounge and three bars, providing diverse culinary experiences for guests and visitors. Leisure amenities include a swimming pool and a modern fitness center, while meeting and event facilities feature generous spaces, including a large ballroom suitable for conferences, weddings and other major events.

Positioned in one of Mumbai’s most vibrant neighborhoods, the new St. Regis aims to serve both business and leisure travelers. The proximity to corporate offices and premium retail makes it a convenient choice for executives and conference attendees, while the nearby nightlife and cultural scenes offer engaging options for tourists and local visitors alike. The hotel’s combination of refined design, full-service amenities and St. Regis hospitality standards is intended to deliver a seamless, elevated stay.

As part of the relaunch, the hotel is expected to emphasize personalized service customary to the St. Regis brand, including bespoke guest experiences and attention to detail across accommodations and public areas. The mix of culinary venues is planned to cater to a range of tastes, from casual all-day dining to signature specialty restaurants, while lounge and bar spaces will provide relaxed settings for socializing or business meetings.

With extensive event facilities, the property is well positioned to host social functions, corporate gatherings and large-scale celebrations. The ballroom and multiple meeting rooms offer flexible layouts and contemporary technology to support a variety of event formats, complemented by professional event planning and catering services.

The transition from the Palladium to St. Regis marks a significant addition to Mumbai’s luxury hotel landscape, reinforcing the city’s appeal as a destination for high-end travelers seeking world-class accommodation, dining and service.
