St. Regis Mexico City Hotel — Luxury Downtown Stay & Amenities

Arrival/Check-In: I arrived in Mexico City on a beautiful early spring day with a light breeze and temperatures near 75°F. It was an excellent start to my visit. The St. Regis provides airport car service from Benito Juárez International Airport, which is a convenient option worth the extra cost, though Uber is widely available in the city as a practical alternative.

Situated in the heart of the business district on Paseo de la Reforma, The St. Regis puts you within easy reach of many neighborhoods and attractions. On arrival the doormen greeted me warmly, took my luggage and escorted me to the third-floor main lobby where reception and the restaurants are located. I enjoyed a cool welcome beverage at check-in and was promptly shown to my suite.

Guest Quarters: My executive suite was spacious and elegantly furnished, offering ample seating that made me wish I had more time to stay. Floor-to-ceiling windows filled the living area with natural light, illuminating a full sofa and a dining table that comfortably seated six. Although the suite lacked a dedicated desk, the dining table served well as a work surface. The living space included a discreet flat-screen TV, a well-stocked bar and a guest powder room.

Ornate double doors opened to the bedroom, which also benefited from full-length windows and bright daylight streaming over the king-sized bed and lounge chairs. The large marble bathroom featured dual sinks, a vanity, and televisions embedded in the mirrors on both sides. A spacious bathtub invited a relaxing soak, and the standalone shower delivered excellent water pressure—though the lighting inside the shower could be improved for a more comfortable experience.

Services/Amenities: The Remède Spa is highly recommended, even for a short visit after a long flight. Among hotel spas I’ve visited, this one stands out. My 90-minute massage followed by a full-body scrub was an ideal way to unwind. The spa’s modern design balances natural light in the locker room with a compact but well-appointed relaxation area offering healthy snacks and fruit-infused water.

For guests who maintain a fitness routine while traveling, the hotel’s gym provides full access and a range of facilities. Cardio machines positioned at the front of the room offer a motivating view—especially at sunrise. The fitness area includes a Pilates room, a juice bar and an attractive indoor pool lined with lanterns and lounge chairs in front of floor-to-ceiling windows.

The hotel features multiple dining options, from casual cafés to private dining rooms. My group and I spent time at the King Cole Bar on the third floor, a refined spot serving signature cocktails—try the tequila Bloody Mary—and offering a generous outdoor seating area that overlooks the Fountain of Diana. It’s an excellent choice for relaxed business conversations or evening drinks with friends.

◆ The attentive, professional staff—especially the doormen—contribute to the hotel’s five-star feel.

◆ The outdoor patio at the King Cole Bar is a standout feature worth experiencing.
