South African Airways has launched a limited-time sale offering reduced fares to a selection of destinations across Africa for spring and late-summer travel. Tickets can be purchased through March 31, and travel is valid for two separate periods: April 1 through May 31, and August 11 through September 12.
Sample fares include round-trip prices starting at $939 from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Accra, Ghana (ACC). Flights between New York’s JFK and Johannesburg (JNB) begin at $1,149 round-trip.
Sale fares also apply to multiple South African cities, including Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London. Travelers originating from other U.S. gateways can find similar discounted fares, though slightly higher, from cities such as Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.
“With these low sale fares, now is a great time to plan a vacation of a lifetime to Africa or to fly home to visit family and friends,” said Marc Cavaliere, executive vice president, the Americas, South African Airways. He noted that South Africa has been recognized as an especially affordable destination in 2016 thanks to a favorable exchange rate for U.S. travelers, making this an attractive time to visit the country or explore the wider African continent with SAA.
In addition to the highlighted cities, the promotion includes reduced fares to many other destinations within South African Airways’ extensive African route network for the same travel periods. Travelers interested in the offer are encouraged to book before the March 31 deadline to secure the promotional rates.
