The chance to spot grizzly bears, polar bears and the rare spirit bear delights passengers cruising through Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest. From June 19–27, the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and Maple Leaf Adventures will operate a series of small-ship sailings along the Inside Passage on Canada’s West Coast.
Guests will be joined by noted Canadian naturalist and wildlife artist Robert Bateman and wildlife photographer Birgit Bateman. Each vessel carries only eight passengers, ensuring an intimate experience that follows historic exploration routes, including those charted by Captain George Vancouver in the 1790s. The itinerary includes time with whale researchers and other specialists, visits to coastal First Nations communities and meetings with local residents, guided grizzly bear viewings, and walks through ancient temperate rainforest. The landscape is framed by waterfalls, coastal fjords and island beaches. This nine-day, round-trip voyage departs from Vancouver. A portion of the proceeds supports the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and coastal conservation initiatives.
