SkyTeam has opened a new lounge at Istanbul’s Atatürk International Airport (IST). The lounge is available to Elite Plus members and first- and business-class passengers departing on any of the 10 SkyTeam airlines that serve Istanbul.
The Istanbul lounge represents a significant step in SkyTeam’s airport-focused SkyPort initiative. SkyPort is designed to enhance cooperation among SkyTeam members by sharing facilities at key airports worldwide, improving both operational efficiency and the passenger experience. As part of this plan, SkyTeam expects to open two additional lounges: one in Sydney by the end of 2013 and another in Beijing in 2014. The initiative also includes co-located check-in counters and shared ticket office facilities at an increasing number of airports.
The new Istanbul lounge accommodates up to 90 passengers and offers a range of premium amenities. Facilities include a business center with printing services and complimentary WiFi; a relaxation area equipped with an oxygen bar and massage chairs; a bar and buffet featuring a variety of cuisines; a reading corner; and more than 70 power outlets for customer use. These amenities are intended to provide a comfortable and productive environment for travelers before their flights.
The lounge aims to serve as a convenient, high-quality space for eligible SkyTeam passengers transiting or departing from IST, combining practical services for work and relaxation with a selection of food and beverage options.
