Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. is expanding its presence in Turkey with plans to open a new Sheraton hotel in Istanbul. Slated to open next year in the Atasehir business district, Sheraton Istanbul Atasehir will mark Starwood’s first property on Istanbul’s Asian side. The hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar, a spa with five treatment rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, retail outlets, and extensive meeting and event facilities, including two ballrooms, 12 meeting rooms, and a business center.
Currently, Starwood operates ten hotels in Turkey and has additional growth planned. The company expects to open four more hotels by 2015, including The St. Regis Istanbul, which is scheduled to debut in the second quarter of this year.
