Seabourn guests now have the opportunity to add an unforgettable pre-cruise excursion to the South Pole on select Antarctica and Patagonia itineraries. These curated experiences build on Seabourn’s reputation for extraordinary travel, offering travelers access to remote landscapes and once-in-a-lifetime moments that complement the Antarctica voyages aboard Seabourn Quest.
Robin West, senior manager of expedition planning and operations at Seabourn, said these excursions will be “the icing on the cake” for guests headed to Antarctica. Travelers can choose between two immersive options: Polar Quest & Patagonia, or Polar Quest, Tierra del Fuego & Iguazu Falls. Both journeys include stays at Union Glacier Camp, a private seasonal base in Antarctica that provides luxury tent accommodations and high-quality dining.
The Polar Quest & Patagonia itinerary is a 14-night program that features a trans-Antarctic flight with a landing at the South Pole. In addition to the polar landing, the trip includes exploration of Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chile, known for its dramatic mountain formations, glaciers, and lakes. Pricing for this expedition begins at $50,999 per person based on double occupancy. The pre-cruise starts on Dec. 4 and precedes the Seabourn Quest departure on Dec. 19.
The Polar Quest, Tierra del Fuego & Iguazu Falls option is a 16-night itinerary that likewise includes a trans-Antarctic flight with a South Pole landing. Beyond Antarctica, this route highlights Iguazu Falls National Park on the Brazil–Argentina border as well as scenic and cultural stops between Santiago and Buenos Aires. Rates for this excursion start at $53,999 per person based on double occupancy. The pre-cruise begins Dec. 26 and leads into the Seabourn Quest departure on Jan. 12.
Both programs emphasize small-group experiences, expert-led activities, and comfortable accommodations at Union Glacier Camp, which operates seasonally and is staffed to support safe, well-organized exploration of Antarctica’s interior. These excursions are designed for travelers seeking to extend their voyage and include a rare opportunity to set foot at the South Pole as part of a broad itinerary that blends polar adventure with regional highlights in South America.
