Qatar Airways has increased capacity on its Doha (DOH)–Cape Town (CPT) route this winter by upgrading the service to a larger Boeing 777 aircraft, adding 158 seats per day.
Previously operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner seating 254 passengers, the route now uses the 777, which can accommodate up to 412 passengers, allowing the carrier to meet greater demand during the busy season.
“Qatar Airways anticipates higher travel demand to Cape Town over the winter period, and we are pleased to offer our customers more options when planning their journeys,” said Ehab Amin, senior vice president for Africa, the Middle East and Pakistan at Qatar Airways. “Cape Town remains a very popular leisure destination thanks to its mix of natural beauty, cultural attractions and wildlife. From mountain biking and surfing to sea kayaking, exploring historical sites or shopping, Cape Town provides a memorable holiday experience for a wide range of travelers.”
Qatar Airways has served Cape Town since 2005. While it initially operated the route with a one-stop connection via Johannesburg (JNB), the airline has provided nonstop flights to Cape Town since November 2014.
