“The therapeutic qualities of French Polynesia create an ideal backdrop for wellness exploration, and The Gauguin’s intimate beauty enhances this experience immeasurably,” said Susan Robison, vice president of Marketing and Communications, Americas, Paul Gauguin Cruises. “The overall welcoming design and enchanting vistas aboard The Gauguin mirror the natural harmony of the islands, creating a seamless flow between the vessel and the surrounding paradise.”
Dr. Rothman is a board-licensed naturopathic physician known for integrating Eastern and Western healing traditions. Tammy Gibson is an elite yoga instructor and specialist in transformational movement. Together they will lead a range of wellness offerings throughout the voyage, including early-morning yoga and Pilates sessions, focused workshops, guided movement practices, and discussions on holistic health.
The program is designed for guests at varying levels of experience. Morning classes provide gentle ways to start the day and support energy for onshore excursions, while workshops explore breathing techniques, restorative practices, and movement approaches that guests can continue after the cruise. Sessions are tailored to the ship’s intimate atmosphere, encouraging personalized attention and practical takeaways.
Beyond the onboard schedule, the islands themselves serve as a restorative setting. The program takes advantage of open decks, quiet corners and panoramic views to create moments of calm and reflection. Instructors emphasize accessible practices that combine breath, alignment, and mindful awareness to deepen relaxation and promote long-term wellbeing.
The 10-night Society Islands & Tuamotus itinerary departs from Papeete, Tahiti, and visits Huahine in the Society Islands; Fakarava and Rangiroa in the Tuamotus; Bora Bora and Moorea; and includes a day on the motu Mahaha/Taha’a. Shore excursions, scenic cruising and time ashore are woven into the schedule to balance active exploration with restorative practices.
Guests on this themed voyage can expect a curated blend of movement classes, wellness discussions, and opportunities to experience French Polynesia’s natural beauty. Whether seeking to deepen a personal practice or to explore new approaches to wellbeing, the program offers an immersive option for travelers who want to return home refreshed and inspired.
