Arrival/Check-In: After a long flight from Los Angeles to Singapore via Taipei, I arrived at Changi Airport and collected my luggage without any delay. This was my first trip to Singapore, and I was excited to reach the Pan Pacific, conveniently located in the heart of the city directly across from Marina Bay Sands. Because I had provided my flight details when booking, staff were already expecting me. A friendly host met me at the entrance and accompanied me to my room, offering a brief orientation along the way. She completed the check-in inside my guestroom, creating a seamless, almost virtual check-in experience that was both efficient and welcoming—a strong first impression.
Guest Quarters: Entering my Harbour Studio guestroom, I was immediately taken by the sweeping view of Marina Bay Sands. The bathroom, located to the left as you enter, features a separate shower, bathtub and toilet area. A glass divider between the marble-clad bathroom and the bedroom gives the space a chic, modern feel—though some guests who prefer full privacy might view it differently. The rain shower felt spa-like, and built-in bathroom speakers let me play my own music while getting ready.
The comfortable king-sized bed and high-quality linens delivered a restful night after my journey. The room included a large, functional workspace with plenty of outlets for charging devices. A 32-inch LCD Internet Protocol television provided entertainment, and a small kitchenette area offered coffee, fruit and snacks. The closet was roomy, adding to the overall convenience of the room.
Services/Amenities: Jet lag had me waking around 2 a.m. the first couple of days, so I took advantage of the Pan Pacific fitness center. The gym is modern and stylish, with colored lighting and motivational wall art. Complimentary bottled water and fresh towels are provided, which made my workout comfortable. Nearby are the outdoor pool and the St. Gregory Spa—both looked inviting and are on my list for a future visit. The hotel also offers tennis courts, an on-site tailor and a well-equipped business center.
The Experience: Overall, my stay at the Pan Pacific was thoroughly enjoyable. As a homegrown Singaporean property, the hotel emphasizes local identity while delivering five-star comfort suitable for both business and leisure travelers. The eight on-site restaurants offer diverse culinary choices; I had breakfast on the top floor and found the buffet extensive, featuring selections that cater to an international clientele. The architecture, views and public spaces are impressive and enhance the sense of place.
The location is hard to beat. Positioned near the Central Business District, the Pan Pacific gives business travelers quick access to offices while offering plenty of sightseeing, shopping and entertainment options for leisure visitors. For anyone seeking a luxurious, authentic Singapore experience, I highly recommend the Pan Pacific Singapore.
