Norwegian Epic, the cruise line’s second-largest ship, has returned from a three-week dry dock with a range of upgrades designed to improve guest experience across entertainment, dining and recreation. These enhancements arrive as Norwegian Epic prepares for its Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona this winter and summer, before returning to the United States and assuming a new homeport in Port Canaveral in autumn 2016.
Onboard entertainment received notable additions. A new venue, The Cavern Club, offers live music and a lively atmosphere, and the ship now features a second Broadway production, Priscilla Queen of the Desert – The Musical, giving guests another acclaimed theatrical option during their voyage.
Dining areas were refreshed throughout the ship. Renovations were completed in Moderno Churrascaria, Cagney’s, La Cucina and Le Bistro, along with updates to the Garden Cafe, the Manhattan Room and the Taste restaurant. These spaces now benefit from new carpeting, reupholstered seating and updated décor to create a more comfortable and modern dining environment.
Recreational and guest services also saw improvements. A new photo gallery, a library and a card room have been added to expand quiet and social spaces. Guests looking for active fun can enjoy SplashGolf, which combines mini golf with water features for family-friendly entertainment.
“Norwegian Epic’s extended dry dock has given us the opportunity to not only enhance the ship’s public spaces but to add significant new features, including a brand new Tony Award-winning musical with Priscilla Queen of the Desert, a new entertainment venue with The Cavern Club and new activities like SplashGolf,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief operating officer of Norwegian Cruise Line. “We continue to invest in our fleet to ensure guests enjoy a consistent, high-quality experience across Norwegian ships and have the freedom and flexibility to create their ideal cruise vacation.”
