Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts is set to open its first hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, in 2015, coinciding with the inaugural European Games. The new property will offer 149 guestrooms and suites, 45 furnished apartments and 80 residences. Guests will find a lobby bar and lounge, an all-day dining restaurant, a top-floor restaurant and bar with panoramic views, a 23,000-square-foot spa, and roughly 33,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.
This opening follows activity from Swissôtel’s sister brand, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, which recently launched part of its first Azerbaijani property, the Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers. The Toronto-based luxury group made 140 of the hotel’s 318 rooms and suites available when it began phased operations.
