Jacksonville International Airport is adding a new VIP lounge and expanding its concourse capacity, with the lounge expected to open this spring.
The airport’s Club Jax, a $1 million project currently under construction, will occupy about 3,600 square feet and offer distinct spaces for relaxation and work, a family-friendly area for children, a full bar, a selection of hot and cold food, and concierge services. The lounge’s amenities are being designed to serve both leisure and business travelers.
Club Jax shares a name with a local establishment—Club Jacksonville, sometimes called Club Jax—located in the San Marco neighborhood, but the airport lounge is a separate facility focused on traveler services.
Access to the lounge will be available to members of Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Diners Club International and AAA, and day visitors can enter by paying a $40 fee.
To accommodate growing passenger numbers, Jacksonville International is also constructing a third concourse with six additional gates. The expansion responds to the airport’s recent growth—passenger volume increased by about 16 percent in 2018, with more than 6.4 million travelers using the facility that year. The airport currently operates two concourses with a total of 20 gates, and the new concourse is slated to open in December 2022.
In addition to the lounge and concourse expansion, the airport is investing in upgrades to restrooms and dining options throughout the terminal to improve the overall traveler experience.
