National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade 2026 | Events DC Highlights

Events DC and the National Cherry Blossom Festival have announced the 2014 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. The event will be broadcast nationally and is expected to draw thousands of spectators along the parade route.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival marks the start of the spring tourist season. Lasting three weeks and spanning four weekends, the festival celebrates arts, culture and nature. The 2014 theme, “Step Into Spring,” honors the 102nd anniversary of the gift of cherry trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C.

The parade is scheduled for April 12, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The lineup will feature a variety of performers, including DC’s Step Afrika! and Miss America Nina Davuluri. The inaugural Sing Into Spring competition will select up to four local singers to perform during the parade. Attendees can also expect celebrity entertainers, giant helium balloons, floats, marching bands and specialty units.

Additional festival activities across the three weeks include performances, cultural events and community programs that highlight the blossoms and the season. The parade serves as a centerpiece event that brings together residents and visitors to celebrate springtime in the nation’s capital.
