Marriott Rewards has introduced an updated loyalty program that unifies three well-known brands — The Ritz-Carlton Rewards, Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest — into a single, streamlined experience. The combined program is designed to give members more ways to earn and use points across a broader range of properties and services.
Starting in August, members gain access to 29 brands across 127 countries at roughly 6,500 hotels worldwide. The unified program simplifies membership with one account and a single membership number, eliminates blackout dates for award nights at eligible hotels, and brings more personalized service during stays. These changes aim to make booking, earning and redeeming rewards more straightforward.
The program’s Moments Platform is also expanding, offering members enhanced opportunities to bid on and purchase unique experiences such as concerts, private performances, sporting events and curated tours. With a membership base exceeding 110 million, the loyalty program continues to grow, and a new program name is scheduled to be revealed in 2019.
Key benefits of the merged loyalty program include:
- Earn points and reach elite status more quickly
- Simplified point redemption processes
- Enhanced mobile features for easier reservations and account management
- Updated co-branded credit card offerings to match the refreshed program
