Loews Miami Beach Review: What to Expect & Where to Stay Near Lincoln Road

ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: Driving from Sarasota to Miami to meet clients takes about 3.5 hours, but it is always worth the trip. I had noticed the Loews Miami Beach Hotel on previous visits to the city but had not stayed there until this trip. From the exterior, the hotel captures the classic South Beach feel with Art Deco lines, tropical landscaping and a bright white façade. Stepping inside, however, reveals a modern, tranquil retreat.

My check-in was quick because I had a meeting scheduled at the hotel bar. The front desk agent promptly assigned me a king deluxe room with an ocean view on the 16th floor, and I headed up to the room.

GUEST QUARTERS: Business travel seldom allows for extended leisure time in destinations like Miami, and after seeing my room I wished I had stayed longer. The ocean view from the 16th floor alone deserved more time—standing on the balcony and taking in the Atlantic panorama felt like a few stolen hours of calm amid a busy day.

The room included a spacious lounge chair, a king bed, a flat-screen TV and a dedicated work area. The design favored clean lines and a neutral palette of white, gray and taupe, with artwork providing subtle pops of color. The bathroom followed the same aesthetic, featuring a large glass-door shower, a single vanity sink with an oversized mirror and a separate toilet area.

SERVICES/AMENITIES: With additional time I would have taken full advantage of the hotel’s amenities. The property is just steps from the Atlantic and features a large zero-entry pool. For a more indulgent experience the hotel offers SOAK cabanas with air conditioning, daybeds, a private Jacuzzi and dedicated butler service. Direct beach access and ample pool space make the hotel a strong choice for vacationers and those seeking a relaxing retreat.

On-site dining includes Rao’s Miami Beach, the hotel’s second location of the iconic New York restaurant, serving classic Italian family recipes. Bar Collins is a convenient spot for light bites and cocktails, where service during my visit was attentive and friendly. The hotel’s location also places guests within easy walking distance of other restaurants and cafés along Collins Avenue.

The Sea Spa provides an array of treatments designed to calm and rejuvenate the body and mind; booking appointments in advance helps secure preferred therapies and times.
