Berlin is welcoming LGBT travelers with the launch of the Pink Pillow Berlin Collection. A collaboration between Visit Berlin and the city’s hotel industry, the program defines LGBT-friendly standards for participating hotels and highlights Berlin’s standing as one of the world’s top gay travel destinations.
“In Berlin, tolerance is practiced and all people are free to be themselves,” said Burkhard Kieker, CEO of Visit Berlin. “The city has created something new for the gay and lesbian travel market and has established a unique hotel network.”
The initial roster includes hotels such as Grand Hotel Esplanade Berlin, nhow Berlin, Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten, Radisson Blu Hotel Berlin and Westin Grand Berlin, among others. The collection began with 23 participating properties and continues to expand. Each hotel in the network displays a visible charter that demonstrates a commitment to treat all guests equally and to provide a welcoming environment.
Beyond visible signs of welcome, participating hotels are required to support social projects for the LGBT community. This element ensures that the initiative extends past branding to meaningful engagement, reinforcing Berlin’s long-standing culture of openness and support for diversity.
