Jimmy Fallon’s Race Through New York attraction is now open at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando.
The official opening on April 6 was celebrated in classic Jimmy Fallon style. Fallon attended with family and was joined by friends and colleagues, including NBC personality Carson Daly and other notable guests.
After his first ride, Fallon told USA Today, “I got chills. I got a little emotional. It’s so realistic. Just hearing the stage manager talking — there’s beautiful sound in it — saying, ‘Okay, get the cue cards ready.’ I felt like I was really at work. That’s when I got butterflies. The ride wasn’t even moving at that point.”
The attraction is a virtual 4D simulator that pits guests against Fallon in a lively competition through New York City. Riders travel through Times Square, soar above the Statue of Liberty and visit other well-known city landmarks in an immersive, fast-paced experience.
Fallon delivered a speech thanking the many people involved in the project, from his family and television colleagues to former Saturday Night Live staff and the Universal team. He also paid tribute to past Tonight Show hosts, with acknowledgments displayed in the attraction’s entry hall.
The opening included a celebratory parade and a ticker-tape moment, as well as playful, personal touches. Fallon’s young daughters, who were more captivated by the park’s oversized Minions than the ceremony, joined the festivities. For the week of the opening, Fallon moved his TV show production to Orlando to help mark the launch.
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon introduces a new virtual line experience at Universal Studios Florida, letting guests spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the park’s attractions. The ride blends cutting-edge simulation, sound design and playful humor to deliver a memorable addition to Universal’s lineup.
