Jet Airways has announced that Amsterdam (AMS) will serve as its new European gateway. Beginning March 27, 2016, the airline will operate two daily non-stop flights to Amsterdam — one from Mumbai (BOM) and one from New Delhi (DEL) — using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. In addition, Jet Airways will operate a daily service from Toronto (YYZ) to Amsterdam. The schedules for these routes have been planned to provide convenient, fast connections between India and Canada via Amsterdam.
The addition of Amsterdam expands Jet Airways’ network in Europe and aims to improve connectivity for both leisure and business travelers. With two daily services from India, passengers gain more flexibility in departure times and better options for onward connections within Europe. The Toronto–Amsterdam flight further strengthens transatlantic connectivity and complements the carrier’s efforts to streamline travel between North America and the Indian subcontinent.
Cramer Ball, CEO of Jet Airways, commented on the launch: “We are delighted to announce the launch of new services to Amsterdam. This is a significant step for Jet Airways and demonstrates our continuous endeavor to provide greater choice and better connections for our guests. Jet Airways’ two daily flights from India to Amsterdam will facilitate further growth in business and tourism between India and the Netherlands.”
The carrier’s use of the Airbus A330-300 for these services ensures a modern, comfortable in-flight experience with ample seating and amenities suitable for medium- to long-haul travel. By coordinating timings across Mumbai, New Delhi and Toronto, the airline intends to make transfers at Amsterdam Schiphol efficient, minimizing layover times and simplifying itineraries for travelers connecting between India and Canada.
Overall, the move positions Amsterdam as a strategic hub for Jet Airways in Europe and supports the airline’s objective of expanding international connectivity while enhancing travel options for passengers across its global network.
