Incheon’s New Art-Tainment Park: Interactive Shows and Exhibits

Take a trip to Paradise City and discover a striking oversized yellow pumpkin in the lobby of the Paradise City Hotel and Resort.

The sculpture, created by renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, stands out among the resort’s extensive art collection. Wander the artwork-lined corridors of this multi-complex facility on Yeongjongdo, Incheon, which features a 5-star hotel, convention halls, shopping areas, a casino, upscale dining and art galleries.

“We wish to create a place where guests can experience all aspects of Hallyu, from culture and beauty to fashion and food,” said Shin Im-chul, marketing director at Paradise Sega Sammy. “Visiting here is entertaining in itself, as guests can explore the grounds much like an art gallery.”

The resort embraces an “Art-tainment” concept, blending art appreciation with entertainment. The plan is to display 2,740 artworks across the property, and most of those pieces are already on view. Sculptures and paintings are distributed throughout the 339,000-square-meter complex, which is a five-minute shuttle ride from Incheon Airport.

Bright, attention-grabbing design elements complement the art, including diamond-shaped crystal lighting and vibrant interior palettes. The casino can accommodate up to 1,200 visitors at once and houses about 450 gaming machines, with exclusive VIP rooms available. Note that casino access is restricted to visitors holding foreign passports.

Facilities at the resort include expansive indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, a family lounge and a bowling alley. The convention center offers one of the country’s largest grand ballrooms along with multiple meeting rooms and event halls. Dining options are varied, with seven restaurants on site, among them the Michelin-recognized Chinese restaurant Imperial Treasure.

Additional facilities were scheduled to open in July 2018, completing the resort’s offerings: Time Plaza shopping area; Wonder Box, a family-friendly gaming and play zone for children and parents; Cimer, a spa complex; and Chromite, a nightclub. Together these spaces enhance the resort’s combination of leisure, culture and entertainment.
