ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: Working for a travel magazine, business in Miami plays a central role in our success. Publisher and CEO Francis X. Gallagher and I arrived from the FXExpress offices in Sarasota, driving to the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables to meet with several major clients about promotional opportunities for 2025. Check-in was quick and efficient. I was pleased to learn my king room included a balcony overlooking the pool deck and wished there had been more time to relax. Once I received my key, I headed up to the room.
GUEST QUARTERS: I value extra space in a hotel room, and this suite delivered. It opened to a large living area with a couch, side chair, and coffee table. The king bed sat opposite the seating area and reflected a clean, minimal design. The bathroom was bright and functional, with a central vanity, a sliding-glass-door shower to the left, and a separate water closet to the right. An oversized oval mirror hung above a small bench across from the closet, making it easy to prepare for business meetings each morning.

My room on the fifth floor opened onto a terrace-style balcony overlooking the pool deck. The view was lovely, and surprisingly little outside noise reached the room. The pool area felt like a private resort oasis, tucked away and serene. Upon arrival, staff welcomed me with a small charcuterie board featuring meats, cheeses, fruit, crackers, and honey—a simple gesture that made a big impression.
SERVICES/AMENITIES: Although we didn’t have time to dine at Two Sisters Restaurant, we stopped briefly at Bar 50 for a drink and chatted with the bartender about other Hyatt properties in Florida. The lounge featured orchids on several high-top tables and offered a variety of seating options suitable for both work and relaxation. During my stay, I observed multiple business meetings taking place in various hotel spaces. For convenience, underground parking is available adjacent to the hotel, making arrivals and departures straightforward.
TOP TAKEAWAYS:

- The private pool area provides a peaceful oasis—ideal for staycations and quick getaways.
- Flexible event spaces accommodate 20–300 guests, from modern boardrooms to the outdoor Court of Lions reception area.
