Hyatt Opens Its First Hotel in Algeria — What Travelers Should Know

Hyatt has expanded into Algeria with the opening of Hyatt Regency Algiers Airport. This property marks Hyatt’s eighth hotel in Africa, joining its existing portfolio in Morocco, Tanzania, Egypt, South Africa and Ethiopia.

The 320-room hotel serves both business and leisure travelers and is the only hotel directly connected to Houari Boumediene Airport, situated adjacent to the airport’s newest terminal. The hotel offers amenities tailored to frequent flyers and corporate guests, including dedicated airline lounges, a Regency Club lounge, a swimming pool and a spacious lobby designed for comfort and convenience.

Dining at the hotel reflects regional flavors and contemporary tastes. The Moorish Palmette Restaurant emphasizes fresh ingredients and a cultural culinary focus. Guests can enjoy craft cocktails and light plates at the Palmette Bar, while the Palmette Market provides grab-and-go options such as sandwiches, salads, desserts and beverages for travelers on the move.

“Algeria is a commercial hub in Africa, and we’re excited to see the Hyatt Regency brand enter the market with the opening of the hotel,” said Pascal Leprou, general manager of Hyatt Regency Algiers Airport. “With a variety of well-designed work and social spaces, our busy guests can easily stay productive while traveling. We anticipate a strong reception of the property, from both the region as well as international travelers.”

The hotel’s location and service offerings position it as a practical choice for those needing immediate access to airport facilities while also providing amenities for longer stays. Business travelers benefit from work-friendly zones and lounges that support meetings and focused work, while leisure guests can relax poolside or explore the city with convenient transport links.

Hyatt Regency Algiers Airport reinforces Hyatt’s expansion strategy across Africa by combining local influences with an international hospitality standard. The property’s mix of on-site dining, comfortable guest rooms and guest-focused public spaces aims to meet the needs of diverse travelers and supports the city’s role as a regional commercial center.
