American Airlines has expanded its international network by adding nonstop service between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Beijing, China. This new route strengthens the carrier’s global reach and complements its extensive domestic U.S. system. American’s Asian presence already includes flights to Shanghai, China, and Delhi, India, and the airline has served Japan for more than 20 years from Terminal 2 at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, which features a recently updated Admirals Club.
Launched this spring, the Chicago–Beijing service is operated with American’s Boeing 777 aircraft, configured in three classes of service: First Class with 14 seats, Business Class with 37 seats, and Economy Class accommodating 194 passengers.
Passengers on the 777 benefit from American’s continued investments in premium onboard services. The airline has expanded culinary offerings and refreshed menus for the Chicago–Beijing flights with dishes created by chef Sam Choy. A four-time James Beard Award nominee for Best Pacific Regional Chef, Choy brings Pacific-inspired flavors and thoughtful menu design to the route.
Beyond dining, American’s premium cabins are outfitted to enhance comfort and convenience. Premium customers traveling to Beijing receive BOSE® noise-cancelling headsets, a broad selection of audio and video entertainment, complimentary amenity kits featuring Burt’s Bees® products, and a plush duvet with an oversized pillow. These amenities are intended to provide a higher level of relaxation and a more comfortable travel experience.
This Chicago–Beijing route underscores American’s commitment to connecting customers to key global markets while delivering upgraded service and amenities across its long-haul fleet.
