Hawaiian Airlines will add a third daily flight between San Francisco (SFO) and Honolulu (HNL) beginning in October, using a new Airbus A321neo on the route.
Starting Oct. 16, the evening departure from Honolulu is scheduled for 9:15 p.m., with arrival in San Francisco at 5:30 a.m. the following day. The westbound service leaves San Francisco at 7:30 a.m. and arrives in Honolulu at 10:10 a.m. Tickets for the additional daily flight are available now.
The Airbus A321neo cabin will feature leather first-class seating, Extra Comfort seats with extra legroom, and complimentary meals for all passengers, bringing upgraded comfort to travelers on the route.
“We are pleased to offer Bay Area travelers another way to experience our award-winning hospitality aboard the new Airbus A321neo,” said Brent Overbeek, senior vice president of revenue management and network planning for Hawaiian Airlines.
This frequency increase provides more options for both leisure and business travelers, improving connectivity between the Bay Area and Hawaii. Morning departures from San Francisco and late-evening returns from Honolulu are timed to accommodate a range of travel plans, including same-day connections for some business itineraries and extended leisure stays when combined with Hawai‘i’s interisland schedules.
Passengers can expect the A321neo’s modern cabin to deliver a quieter ride and improved fuel efficiency compared with older narrow-body aircraft. The Extra Comfort section offers additional legroom and priority boarding benefits, while first-class seats provide more personal space and premium amenities. Complimentary meals remain part of Hawaiian’s onboard service, continuing the carrier’s emphasis on hospitality.
With the extra daily frequency, Hawaiian Airlines expands its capacity on the SFO–HNL market, aiming to meet demand throughout peak travel periods and holidays. The additional flight may also offer greater flexibility for travelers seeking specific departure times or connections, as well as options for those planning weeklong or shorter visits.
Travelers interested in the new service can purchase tickets through Hawaiian Airlines’ official site or contact the carrier directly for booking assistance and seat selection. As always, schedules are subject to change, so passengers should confirm flight times and travel requirements before departure.
