Yardley, Pa., May 9, 2014 – Global Traveler held its second annual Leisure Travel Awards reception last week, celebrating the winners of the magazine’s Leisure Travel Awards. The event took place at the historic Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica, Calif.
More than 100 guests gathered in the Penthouse Suite and on the rooftop of the iconic Hotel Shangri-La, a property dating to the 1930s and noted for its Streamline Moderne architecture. Attendees enjoyed cuisine and cocktails inspired by the honored leisure destinations while taking in sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. The setting provided an elegant backdrop for recognizing the best in leisure travel, as chosen by Global Traveler readers—travelers who typically take up to six leisure trips each year.

At sunset, Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO of Global Traveler, presented the 2014 Leisure Travel Awards to the winners.
