Global Gala: A World Celebration of Culture and Cuisine

Award winners representing travel-industry leaders from around the world gathered to accept recognition at the 11th annual Global Traveler GT Tested Reader Survey awards held in Beverly Hills.

For the fourth year running, the Peninsula Beverly Hills—voted Best Individual Hotel in the United States in this year’s survey—served as the elegant setting for the gala.

More than 200 guests attended to congratulate the respected winners on their achievements. Guest of honor Michael Yo appeared on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Yo, a television host and comedian, is known for appearances on programs such as Chelsea Lately, The Insider and The Talk.

As an engaging host, Yo encouraged attendees to donate travel-related prizes for Global Traveler’s charity auction benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The auction begins March 1. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., LLS is a leading voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood-cancer research, education and patient services.

The evening also celebrated new inductees into GT’s Hall of Fame, an exclusive group recognizing companies with ten consecutive wins in their categories. This year’s honorees included Air Canada, Incheon Airport and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Rewards Club.
