Four Seasons Resort Maui Announces Guided Photo Expedition Experiences

Robert Caplin and Peter Lockley, both acclaimed photographers, will lead a hands-on photography workshop at the Four Seasons Resort Maui from June 14–19. Following its success in 2015, the program returns with on-location shoots, guided instruction, group critiques and collaborative editing sessions designed to help participants improve their craft.

The workshop emphasizes practical, one-on-one guidance: attendees work with their own cameras while receiving direct feedback from the professionals. The schedule balances field shoots with classroom-style instruction, giving photographers time to practice techniques, review results and refine their visual approach. The format also encourages networking in a relaxed, supportive setting.

“Participants will come away with a better understanding of light, composition, exposure, production, editing and printing,” Lockley said. As chief sports photographer for the Washington Times and a contributor to ESPN the Magazine, Lockley brings extensive editorial and sports photography experience to the program.

Caplin’s portfolio includes assignments for major publications such as the New York Times, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, TIME and Newsweek. He has photographed a wide range of subjects, including notable celebrities, and brings experience from both editorial and commercial work.

Canon is the official sponsor of the expedition and will host a lounge where participants can test the latest Canon equipment. The company’s presence gives attendees access to current camera and lens technology during the sessions. Additional sponsors supporting the event include Adorama, Tenba and Alii Nui, providing gear, accessories and local support to enhance the overall experience.

Pricing for the workshop starts at $6,990 and includes a five-night stay in an ocean-view room at the resort. The package covers instruction, scheduled shoots and access to sponsor showcases, offering a combined learning and travel experience tailored to serious amateurs and emerging professionals.
