Finnair Introduces New Korean Menu on Flights to and from Seoul

Finnair has introduced a new Korean-inspired menu for business-class passengers on its Seoul (ICN) to Helsinki (HEL) route as part of the airline’s Signature Chef series. Created by Seoul-based chef Sung-Yeol Nam, the menu draws on “the ingredients and the food I grew up with,” bringing familiar flavors to the inflight dining experience.

The seasonal offerings rotate; the initial selection, available through July, features a beef roll appetizer accompanied by young greens and a main course of sea bass served with grilled spring onions and romesco sauce. These dishes were designed to translate well to the inflight setting while highlighting Korean culinary traditions alongside contemporary techniques.

This menu launch marks the 10th anniversary of Finnair’s Seoul service. The carrier operates the roughly 9.5-hour flight between Seoul and Helsinki once daily using an Airbus A350-900. Departures from Seoul are scheduled at 10:20 a.m., with arrivals in Helsinki at 1:55 p.m. local time on the same day, offering convenient connections across Finnair’s network.

By partnering with noted chefs like Sung-Yeol Nam, Finnair continues to emphasize regional cuisine and elevated onboard service for premium passengers. The Signature Chef series rotates periodically, so business-class travelers on the Seoul–Helsinki route can expect fresh menus and new culinary collaborations throughout the year.
